• A knife incident happens every 25 minutes.
  
  
• Four out of five offenders are aged between 12 years - 20 years.
  
  
• A third of victims are aged between 10 years - 17 years.
  
  
• Up to 60,000 young people, mostly male, may be stabbed and injured each year, the equivalent of more than 160 victims a day.
  
  
• More than 900 potentially lethal weapons have been seized by police from children on school grounds. They include hunting knives, axes, meat hooks, claw hammers, knuckledusters and even guns.
